Goals on Wheels

Goals on wheels is an initiative under the larger rubric #ProjectJyothi an undertaking of Amadasri Foundation which aims at the implementation of united nations sustainable development goals.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS – A sustainable future for all.

In 2000 the beginning of the new millennium, world leaders came together and developed a concrete plan of action for the world, to fight poverty in its many dimensions. That vision was translated into the eight Millennium Development Goals, a development framework for the world for the 15 years, 2000-2015. Although there has been unprecedented growth and improvements in achieving some of the MDG’s the progress has been uneven.

Sustainable Development Goals is a post-2015 United Nations Development Agenda. It is a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity integrating social, economic and environmental dimensions of sustainable development. The 17 sustainable development goals were built on MDG’s with far-reaching and people centred set of universal and transformative targets. The goals are a blueprint of actions for fifteen years (2015-2030) in areas of crucial importance for humanity and planet unanimously adopted by the world leaders at United Nations.

“Only when no one is left behind and everyone is treated equal true progress of a society is achieved. I strongly believe in the capability of youth in achieving this progress. We are fortunate to be a generation who have a chance to end poverty and also last generation who can end climate change. Let us join hands in bringing back our earth from the valley of death.

We are not future, we are present, right now!
Let us be the change and bring the change, right now!”
